The Ability to Forget by Norman Levine

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPublished by L&OD - An Imprint of Key Porter Books.

In The Ability to Forget, Norman Levine takes us on a wonderous journey, magical even. He has an uncanny gift of taking the most everyday items, the most trivial of events and crafting something extraordinary with the use of his eye-catching yet simple descriptions. I love the way his writing is so down to earth and yet is so intruiging.

This book contains 15 short stories and though I tried to choose a favourite from the book, I found myself unable to, though I did love the generosity shown in 'Gifts'. They each have something special which touches the reader on many levels. The only thing I could decide on, was that this is a book that I will return to time and time again and I am pretty sure that if you read it, you will feel the same.

This is my first experience with the works of Norman Levine but he fast became a favourite author of mine and sadly he passed away in 2005. I will be hunting down all his other books though.
